Mengão's third signing of the 2024 season, defender Léo Ortiz was officially presented on Friday afternoon (8), in the Ninho do Urubu press room, as the new red-black player. After a long negotiation, the defender said he was very happy to play for Mais Querido and promised a lot of desire to win titles. Check out some excerpts from the press conference:

Coming to Flamengo
"I've demonstrated my desire from the beginning. I also expressed my desire within Bragantino, but always with respect. Opportunity doesn't knock twice. I'm very happy to be here."

Red-Black Nation
"I've had the opportunity to face Flamengo many times. It's always an incredible atmosphere, even playing against the crowd, Maracanã, a historic venue in Brazilian football. Having this crowd behind us, knowing they'll support us through thick and thin, makes me happy. I hope we can have many victories to celebrate together."

Titus
"He was the first coach to call me up to the national team, three times. I believe he has great confidence in my work. In our initial conversations, he always expressed his desire for me to join. He has a strong squad, with a lot of quality, and I would add a lot to it in terms of quantity and technical quality. Tite was instrumental in getting me here. I was very well received by the national team, and now I'll have a longer term with him at Flamengo."

Fight for titles
"Flamengo is a club that thinks big and is always in the running for major titles. The players here have to think big. And those are certainly my goals. Winning the Libertadores, chasing a World Cup, having the opportunity to play big games, having the chance to go to a World Cup wearing the Flamengo jersey."
