Flamengo knows it has a tough task ahead in the second half of the year. After the World Cup, the Brazilian Championship returns in full force, and the Rubro-Negro, as defending champions, are one of the teams most targeted by other teams. Therefore, the players know they need to prepare hard during this offseason.
Right-back Leonardo Moura, for example, believes the competition will become even more balanced after the World Cup.
"We have to prepare for after the World Cup. The Brazilian league will be on fire and whoever is prepared will have a better chance of taking advantage of the competition," he said.
The player believes that the board is committed to hiring reinforcements for the group and trusts in the potential of the possible new members of the squad.
"Everything here will be resolved. There are competent people handling these situations, and we just have to worry about continuing the work. Whoever arrives will adapt to the group and work with everyone," said the player, who revealed that he is not considering leaving the club despite all the speculation.
"I'm not even paying much attention to that. To leave here, Flamengo has to want it and things have to move forward. I'm very happy here and if something really good comes up, we'll sit down and talk," he added.
