Coach Ney Franco will be getting a reinforcement in the coming days. After all, striker Leonardo, already cleared by the medical department after recovering from a sprained ankle, can return to training with his teammates in the coming days. The player was injured on April 01st, in a match against Friburguense, minutes after scoring a goal. At the time, Leonardo was improving in performance and was becoming a great option for coach Ney Franco. Since then, he has been eagerly awaiting the chance to compete for a spot in the red-and-black attack again.

Leonardo still regrets the moment the injury happened.

"I was growing in production and gaining a place in the team. It was a good time for me. Unfortunately, the problem arose with the same ankle I had already injured last year," says the player.

After more than 40 days fighting for recovery and following the work program established by Flamengo's medical department, Leonardo was cleared to begin the physical conditioning process.

"I hope to be ready for the game against Botafogo in the third round. I'm looking forward to coming back and helping Flamengo," says Leonardo.
