Libertadores is already a thing of the past for Flamengo

Rubro-Negros believe that the duel for the international competition will not have any influence on Sunday

Flamengo and Corinthians have already met twice in 2010. Each team came out on top when playing at home, but in the aggregate, Flamengo secured a spot in the Copa Libertadores quarterfinals by scoring an away goal. But for the team from Gávea, that's history.

According to defender Ronaldo Angelim, the motivation for both teams will not be a possible rematch, but rather their ambitions in the Brasileirão table.

"That's in the past. Corinthians' motivation will be to seek leadership and ours will be to try to get closer to those in first place," he said.

Anticipating a great game, Angelim recalls the matches in the international competition to bet on a balance in this clash.

"Whenever Flamengo and Corinthians meet, you can only expect a great game. It was like that in the Libertadores matches and I'm sure it will be again on Sunday," said the defender, who believes in a great duel between the São Paulo attack and the Rio defense.

"We know the strength of Corinthians' attack, but we also know the quality of our defense. We'll try to maintain these good numbers to come away with the victory," he concluded.
