The Flamengo center forward paved the way for victory against Niger just three minutes into the first half, demonstrating good positioning in the box and a great sense of opportunism after a Paulinho cross. It was Lincoln's third goal in three World Cup matches for Brazil. During the South American Championship campaign, which qualified the team for the World Cup and saw Vinícius Junior named the tournament's best player and top scorer, Lincoln scored five goals in nine matches.
