The pressure for good results is immense. The fans' expectations are too. But none of that bothers Flamengo's young goalkeeper, Marcelo Lomba. The number 29 for the Rubro-Negro is already used to the demands from his youth categories and believes that harmony with the fans is fundamental for a strong start in the Brazilian Championship.

Lomba admits that his life has changed recently with his sudden success as the club's starting goalkeeper. Despite this, he assures that his routine remains the same.

"I'm not changing my routine. Of course, my life has changed in recent months, especially since I'm a very calm person, but obviously it's a time for work and the fans are used to victories and titles," he said.

Confident of a good run of results, he believes the team has everything it takes to bring the nation back to its side, especially if it can secure a victory on Sunday (September 05.09).

"I don't think they're at their limit, but it's never in their minds that we'll be fighting for the relegation zone. If we can get a good run going, things will tend to move towards greater heights," he concluded.
