Marcelo Lomba's unbeaten run at Flamengo in 2010 came to an end on Wednesday night (July 21.07). After three games as a starter without conceding a goal this year, the goalkeeper conceded a goal from a free kick in the Flamengo's 1-1 draw against Avaí. But, as looking for the ball in the back of his own net is more than normal in the life of a player in his position, the goalkeeper doesn't want to hear about discouragement.

For Lomba, who despite conceding the first goal remains unbeaten with Rubro-Negro this year (three wins and one draw in four matches), the time is right to continue working hard to achieve new good results with the Flamengo shirt, which he has worn for 10 years.

"Unfortunately, I conceded my first goal after becoming a starter, but that's no reason to hang my head. I have to keep working because there are still many games left in the Brasileirão," he said.

Confident, he thinks about the future and says he believes his team will fight for the top spots in the table, as it did in 2009, when it ended up as national champion.

"I'm sure we'll fight at the top of the table," he added.
