Lomba is getting used to the fans' recognition
Flamengo goalkeeper reveals that fans are one of his biggest motivations at Flamengo
By From the team at Flamengo's official website - inThere's no doubt that Marcelo Lomba's routine has changed significantly since the 23-year-old goalkeeper took over as Flamengo's starting goalkeeper. All eyes were on him, along with whether or not he was ready for such a responsibility. And his performances against Botafogo and Atlético-GO confirmed what those who already knew the goalkeeper from the club's youth academy knew: Lomba is ready for the challenge.
\But along with this certainty came more media exposure, press conferences and exclusive interviews, requests for autographs and photos with fans. Nothing that changes this young talent's mind.
"I'm still getting used to it, but since we're traveling and have very busy days, I haven't yet fully grasped what this harassment is like. But receiving this recognition is great. The fans are one of my biggest motivations. The support is huge, and we'll always do our best to defend Flamengo, which is such a special club," explained Lomba.
\Despite not hiding his satisfaction with the good results he has achieved this season, where he has already played four games and not conceded a single goal, Lomba maintains a calm head, one of his main characteristics since the youth academy, and guarantees that he will do his best to remain undefeated for a few more games.
\"First, I thank God. I have a clear head, thinking game by game, and I'm earning my place. I always do my best to avoid conceding goals. The pressure is always high on the goalkeepers, but I'm used to it. Wednesday we have another tough game against Avaí, and we know this is just the beginning. Flamengo wants and can go further in the Brasileirão," he concluded.
