The red-and-black power is in the air. Vagner Love sent both games to the corner without scoring and returned to the net in style this Saturday. The number nine jersey only failed to make it rain in Volta Redonda. The "Artilheiro do Amor" (Love's Artilleryman) scored two goals and assisted two others in the 4-1 victory over Macaé on Saturday night. With this, the striker surpassed Dodô and is the sole top scorer in the State Championship with eight goals.

Love paved the way for victory in the 28th minute of the first half with a penalty kick and sealed the victory in the 27th minute, after a great one-two with Ramón, the night's debutant, recalling his time at CSKA Moscow. And it wasn't just scoring that the Love Gunner stood out. He also excelled as a waiter. Love provided two assists, both of which left Vinícius Pacheco free to score.

"That's what the team wanted, to win the game, to win well, and we did it. We only drew in the first half, but we came back stronger in the second half, scoring better, and that was crucial," said the player.

A personal friend of Love, Leonardo Moura had a long chat with the center forward before he took the penalty that resulted in Flamengo's first goal. After the game, the right-back celebrated his teammate's great performance.

"It was good that Vagner started scoring goals again to regain our confidence. He has helped us a lot," he said.
