However, in an interview with Arena SporTV on Monday afternoon, the striker, who was one of the standout players in last Sunday's Fla-Flu match, emphasized the strength of the entire Flamengo squad.

The Love Gunner believes the comeback against rival Fluminense showcased the full potential of Flamengo's squad. The striker praises the team's unity and asserts that, despite being a high-quality team, there's no vanity at Gávea.

"From yesterday's game, you can see that we have different players. There are players who don't have vanity, and that's how the team ends up achieving important results. Vanity has to be left aside so we can pursue the same objective," he explained.

To talk about Vagner Love at Flamengo these days is to also talk about Adriano. The duo has been delivering what's expected of them: scoring goals galore. They've already scored eight, and more are expected. The player has nothing but praise for his teammate and believes they complement each other on the field.

"He has a lot of technical strength and skill. I like going out to get the ball, and he's always there behind me to create a one-two, as well as playing with his back to create a wall. He makes it easier for me, and I make it easier for him. It's working. We've given back to the fans in three games, but we have a lot to improve. I'm happy here because I'm at home, in my city," he said.

His success with the red and black shirt means the center forward is already envisioning days of glory with the yellow jersey, where he had his best opportunity in the 2004 Copa América.

"I'll try to do my best to get an opportunity. There are players who are called up frequently. I want to do a good job at Flamengo so I can have a chance to go to the national team. Until the 22 players are there in Africa, I won't give up. If I don't make it to this World Cup, I'll root for Adriano, hoping he shines like he did in 2004," he added.
