Close to making history with Flamengo, Vagner Love can't hide his happiness after another decisive performance. This Sunday (April 11.04), he scored both goals in the 2-1 victory over Vasco, which secured the Flamengo a spot in the Rio Cup final, and reached 14 goals in 13 games in the 2010 State Championship.

The Artilheiro do Amor's numbers since arriving at Gávea are impressive. The competition's top scorer, he could break a nine-year drought for Flamengo without a top scorer in the state championship. The last time he did so was Edilson, who won the championship for the third time in 2001.

"That's good. As long as I'm helping Flamengo win, win titles, I'll be happy," said Love.

Vagner, a humble man, believes it wasn't just his goals that helped the red-and-black team reach this final. According to him, the dedication of the entire team was crucial.

"We ran the whole time and now we're qualified. I expect a good match against Botafogo and the duel will have a special flavor for me," he said.

Guaranteed to be in the Rio Cup final, the player is already showing some anxiety about his first decision wearing the shirt of his favorite club.

"I've always dreamed of playing in a final for Rubro-Negro, and the time has come. Now it's all or nothing for the Rio title. We have a Libertadores game and then Botafogo. We're going to play and rest a lot to get this title," he concluded.
