Love wants to get the fans "well accustomed"
Striker celebrates goals scored and promises more and more joy to the Nation
By From the team at Flamengo's official website - inVagner Love is spoiling the Flamengo fans with his love. After all, in four games wearing the Flamengo jersey, the number nine has already scored six goals. Therefore, with each match, fans already wait for the Love Gunner to find the net. Could this pressure get in the way? The striker assures that it won't. According to him, this is just extra motivation for him to do what he loves most and what he knows how to do: score goals. "The goal is to score more goals, and to spoil the fans, not spoil them, but rather get them used to it (laughs)," he joked.
\In last Wednesday's match against Olaria at Maracanã, Love scored twice and secured Flamengo's place in the semifinals of the Guanabara Cup. The center forward emphasizes the importance of securing this early spot. According to him, winning the first round of the Campeonato Carioca is crucial for Flamengo's planning, which has the Copa Libertadores da América as its main goal for the year.
\"The Libertadores is a tough competition, so we have to focus on the Guanabara Cup to have more peace of mind for the Libertadores. But we can't forget about the second round of the Carioca, because if we win both, we'll secure the title early," he analyzed.
\Love couldn't be happier with his first steps at his beloved club. Fulfilling his childhood dream of wearing the Flamengo jersey, he's been on a honeymoon with the red-and-black fans ever since he arrived.
\"Since I arrived, I've said I'd strive to score as many goals as possible, because that's what a striker thrives on, and that's how I can help the team. Of course, I didn't expect to do so well right from the start, so it's a wonderful moment in my career. But I still hope to improve," he noted.
\The striker also defends his defensive teammates, who have been questioned about the high number of goals conceded (12) in the first six rounds of the State Championship. According to him, harping on about this only gets in the way, and, with time, everything will work out.
\"There's no point criticizing the defense and talking about numbers. For me, it's not even that many goals, but I'm sure that, over time, with everyone helping each other, this will end. Our team is very attacking, we look for goals a lot, and obviously, we end up taking more risks from the back. That's natural," he added.
