With Juan currently on international duty with the Brazilian national team, right-back Luizinho could earn a starting spot for Saturday's match against Atlético-MG at the Maracanã. Despite being a right-back, Luizinho has always shown agility playing on the left flank.

"I hope Caio Júnior chooses the best for the team, and of course I'm available. I've always helped the team when asked. I haven't lost my place at left-back yet," said an excited Luizinho.

Luizinho showed confidence and stated that he is ready to replace the best left-back in the Brazilian Championship.

"The important thing is to train well, show commitment, and know that eventually the opportunity will come. Anyone wants a chance in this final stretch, and I'm sure I can do well."

Former Ipatinga and Cruzeiro player, Luizinho guarantees that he has always been lucky playing against Atlético-MG.

"When I played against Atlético-MG for Ipatinga, I used to get lucky. The same goes for Cruzeiro. I played when we eliminated Atlético-MG in the semifinals in 2006. With Flamengo, I already have a draw in this year's Brazilian Championship, and now I want to get in there and help us stay close to the title."
