Luxa believes that the mistakes of 2010 will serve as lessons for next year.

The coach believes the players will learn a lot from these difficulties and emerge stronger.

Using difficulties as an opportunity to return to winning ways. This seems to be Vanderlei Luxemburgo's main idea for Flamengo's next season. Accustomed to planning his work well, the coach will have time to work with the team and also assemble a squad for 2011. However, he doesn't want to let the difficult year experienced by the Flamengo players be forgotten.

Relieved by the other results of the round, which eliminated any danger, however small, of relegation, the coach commented that the players themselves said they were experiencing a very different situation from that in 2009, when they were competing for the Brazilian Championship title at this stage of the competition.

"We are relieved, yes. The players commented in the locker room that last year, at this point in the championship, they were experiencing a winning atmosphere, fighting for the title. But God put this in their lives, in our lives. And if this happened, it's because we had to go through it. It's a learning experience," said Luxemburgo.

Accustomed to winning Brazilian championships – five so far – the Flamengo coach explained what needs to be done to compete for the title.

"To have a good Brazilian Championship, you have to understand the competition. And we're going to do that from the start of next year's preparation. And it will be good that we take the lessons learned this year with us," he concluded.
