The friendly match between Flamengo and Londrina, this Sunday (January 09.01th), served as an opportunity for Flamengo's coach, Vanderlei Luxemburgo, to make some observations. While not focusing too much on tactics, the coach provided technical analyses of some players. Both the newly signed players and the youth academy players received a positive evaluation from the manager.
Felipe, who was the star of the afternoon by saving a penalty in the first half of the game in Londrina, was the first. According to Luxemburgo, there is no surprise in the goalkeeper's talent, who still has a long way to go at Flamengo.
"I'm not worried about my own choice. He's talented and I hope he can be very successful at Flamengo. There's no such thing as him being recommended by me. Here at the club, the work has always been a team effort," said the coach, before talking about midfielder Vander.
"He did very well. He's fast, he managed to create some plays. He's a player that many people didn't know and that shows that we have to be aware of the market. We went there, we looked for him and now he will continue the work," he observed.
Finally, the youngsters from the youth divisions also received applause from the coach. Sixteen-year-old Adryan was praised for his class, while João Vitor and Muralha's ease in playing the ball out from the back was highlighted.
"It's impossible to talk about any evolution, and I'm not worried about that. I've observed talented players like Adryan, João Vitor, and Muralha. Players who are seeking their place within our project. There's no such thing as analyzing the game; you have to analyze the work that's being done," he concluded.
