Regarding the Brazilian Championship, especially the league format played in a round-robin format, Vanderlei Luxemburgo has already proven his expertise. He has five titles in the most important competition in Brazilian football on his resume. Now managing Flamengo, the coach wants to finish the 2010 campaign well in order to think about seeking another title in 2011.

Knowing what it takes to achieve good positions in the competition, Luxa asks the team to take advantage of the sequence of games they have at home, which is fundamental for a winning streak.
\
"We have to work with this fixed idea. There are nine more games in the Brazilian Championship and our goal is to get wins. We've already drawn too many games at home, which is terrible in this type of competition," said the Flamengo coach, who explained why he considers draws negative results.
\
"In five games, if you draw all five, you get five points. If you win two and lose three, you get six points. In other words, a draw is not a good result. The math is simple: take advantage of the home games and score points in the key away matches. That's how the Brazilian Championship works," he analyzed.
\
To start gaining momentum at home, Vanderlei is betting on the strength of the team's twelfth player.
"If we have the fans on our side, we can pursue our goals. I'm not worried about defensive or offensive numbers, because that happens. One moment one team is doing well, the other is falling, but the important thing is that we continue to evolve, counting on the fans and seeking victories," he concluded.
