Last Monday (15.11), president Patricia Amorim celebrated Flamengo's anniversary in Gávea, but also found time to stop by Ninho do Urubu in Vargem Grande to talk with the players of the Rubro-Negro soccer team. During the chat, she demonstrated confidence in the group, but also gave a certain "pulling of the ear", which was approved by Vanderlei Luxemburgo.
The coach clarified that he only returned to the club due to a restructuring being carried out by the board and praised the president's conduct throughout the period he was at Gávea.
"She doesn't really command, she doesn't manage. She provides working conditions. My return to Flamengo was decided after analyzing the club I like. The proposal presented to me involves growing the structure. And that's what I've seen her do. Patricia is paying her taxes on time. How long has it been since that happened? She's paying past debts, making arrangements with everyone. She's paying the players' salaries regularly. There are some pending issues, which is normal for someone managing a complicated company. Nothing unusual, there's no confusion, the players haven't seen anything unusual," said the coach, who passed the message to the players.
"I've already spoken to them. It's a call from the club president who, like us, wants things to move forward. She comes here often, she's a wonderful person, she wants things resolved. She spoke, she's the club's representative, and it was a call that the players and coaching staff have to find something," he said.
Luxa also recalled that the project, not only of the president but of the entire club, is to seek victory against Guarani, Saturday, at Engenhão, to alleviate the team's complicated situation in the Brasileirão a little.
"I know Flamengo very well. The results aren't what Patricia and I want. But she's structuring the club, and things will go smoothly. Flamengo won't be finished against Guarani. Our goal now is to win the Guarani game. Nothing can get in the way of our decision," he concluded.
