Luxemburgo sees team evolving under his command

Coach considers defeat to Furacão the only bad result of his time at Fla so far

Since arriving at Flamengo, coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo has experienced a wave of optimism, from a place in the next edition of the Copa Sudamericana to concern about the bottom of the table. Experienced, he knows what the Brazilian Championship is like: competitive, balanced, and unpredictable. In his opinion, the red-and-black team has been improving and could prove this further in the match against Guarani on Saturday (November 20.11) at Engenhão.

According to him, the loss to Galo in the last round ended up being a normal result, given the circumstances of the match. The only setback Luxa considers particularly negative was the 1-0 loss to Atlético-PR in Volta Redonda. With his traditional positive mindset, however, he believes there's no reason to despair.

"I see that we are achieving good results. For me, the only bad result was the defeat to Atlético-PR. The defeat to Atlético-MG (4-1) was a normal result, even with all the motivation that existed on their side," he said.

Once again, the coach took the opportunity to warn that no one has a guaranteed spot on the red-and-black team. According to him, it's necessary to show service every day to earn a starting spot.

"You have to find the team and motivate the players. It's important to create competition for everyone until next year. The player will only have his place defined once the team gets going and produces," he added.
