More experienced, Egídio doesn't mind heavy legs and shows his worth.
The full-back expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him by the board and coaching staff, and said he is prepared to represent Flamengo well.

When Egídio first left Flamengo in 2007, on loan to Paraná, he had one goal in mind: to gain experience, have more opportunities, and return to the club that launched his career to assume an important position within the squad. Four years have passed since then, leading to his return as a potential starter at left-back at the beginning of 2011.
The player comes from a very good season with Vitória in 2010 and believes he can repeat that success wearing another red-and-black jersey. More accustomed to the demands of professional football and eager to show his talent, Egídio doesn't hide his confidence and counts on everyone's support to do well in this pre-season.
"We go out with the intention of gaining more experience. Over the years, I've gained that experience and I hope to do well now. The board and coach Luxemburgo are giving me strength, so it's about working hard and trying to take advantage of the opportunity," he said.
Coming back from vacation, Egídio knows that the team still needs some time to readjust to its usual rhythm. That's why these physical training sessions, which have been the focus of pre-season training in Londrina so far, are so important.
"At first, your legs feel heavy, but with perseverance, we'll start the season with a win in this friendly. Pre-season is tough, your legs feel heavy, you make a face, but that's just how it is," he concluded.
Flamengo returns to training this Wednesday afternoon (05.01), at 16:30 pm, at the SM Sport Training Center, in Londrina.
