Defending the lead in the Brazilian Championship, Flamengo traveled to Vila Belmiro and drew 1-1 with Santos. Mauricio Barbieri's team dominated the match for the entire 90 minutes and returned to Rio de Janeiro with a point. Everton Ribeiro scored for Santos, and Gabriel scored for Santos.
All the same
The Mais Querido's start to the match at Vila Belmiro was overwhelming. Flamengo's first attack saw them open the scoring through Everton Ribeiro. After Diego's corner kick, Bruno Henrique attempted to clear it, but the ball fell to the number 7, who slotted it into the net.
Despite the slight goal, Rubro-Negro continued to press, and Everton Ribeiro scared Vanderlei with a beautiful shot from outside the box. The home side responded with a quick counterattack, and Léo Duarte appeared at the perfect moment to clear the ball along the byline.
In the final stretch of the first half, the game cooled down, and Santos managed to find a goal. Rodrygo found Gabriel in the box, and the number 10 equalized. Before the final whistle, Lucas Paquetá took a chance from the middle of the field and narrowly missed putting Flamengo back in front.
The goal was missing
The second half of the match at Vila Belmiro was a one-sided affair. Seeking three points away from home, Mauricio Barbieri's team held the majority of possession and patiently exploited the gaps left by the opposing defense.
Everton Ribeiro continued to try his best and nearly scored a stunning solo goal. The number 7 spun beautifully around his marker, broke free, and his shot was deflected by defender Luís Felipe.
Barbieri brought on Uribe, Geuvânio, and Henrique Dourado, but the chances were ultimately missed. In the last attack, the ball was lofted into the box, looking for Réver, but the opposing defense managed to clear the danger.

Flamengo's next match in the Brasileirão will be at home against Sport. The "Mais Querido" will face the Pernambuco team at Maracanã, and the ball will kick off at 16 p.m.
