Flamengo completed preparations this Saturday (01) to face Fluminense, in a classic valid for the Rio Cup. Opening the work at Ninho do Urubu, the goalkeepers went to Field 4, where coach Vitor Hugo led a training session focused on goal kicks. Meanwhile, other athletes carried out pre-training activities at Flamengo's Performance Excellence Center (CEP FLA).
The group then went to the pitch at Field 5, where the warm-up took place and, later, the red-black commander Zé Ricardo and his assistant Cleber dos Santos coordinated the tactical training. Adjustments were made to the team's positioning during the offensive and defensive moments, with guidance given by the coach regarding the opponent's style of play this Sunday (02).
Next came set-piece practice. Both for free kicks near the penalty area and corner kicks, the players were instructed on how to mark opposing players, as well as practicing attacking plays using this technique. To conclude the training session at the training center, part of the squad worked on a reduced-size field. On the opposite side of the field, players practiced direct shots on goal.
After the end of the activities, the Flamengo squad will travel to Vitória, Espírito Santo, where they will be based before the derby. The Fla-Flu match will be played at Kleber Andrade Stadium in Cariacica, with kickoff starting at 16 p.m.
