In a training match that marked the beginning of Flamengo's preparation for their next Brazilian Championship game against Chapecoense, the team won 5-1, with goals from Leandro Damião, Ederson, Léo Duarte, and Felipe Vizeu (twice). The team underwent several changes during the session, which included Everton Ribeiro and Rhodolfo in the first two thirty-minute periods.
In the third stage, coach Zé Ricardo's team was composed solely of athletes who came up through the youth ranks of Flamengo, including some of the "Garotos do Ninho" (Flamengo's youth academy players) from the under-20 team led by coach Gilmar Popoca, who were finalists in the 2017 edition of the Copa do Brasil in that category.
Initially, Flamengo took to the field with: Maralha; Pará, Rhodolfo, Rafael Vaz, Renê; Ronaldo, Rômulo, Conca; Ederson, Everton Ribeiro and Leandro Damião. At the end of the first thirty minutes of the training match, the first substitution was made, with Matheus Savio replacing Darío Conca. At that moment, Flamengo was winning 2-0.
During the second half, coach Zé Ricardo brought on Léo Duarte, Lucas Paquetá, Adryan, and Felipe Vizeu, as well as right-back Kleber and midfielder Jean Lucas, who are part of the under-20 team. Shortly after, the young defender extended the lead, making the score 3-0.
Finally, goalkeeper César replaced Alex Muralha in the final part of the activity, in addition to defender Rafael and left-back Michael, both members of the junior team of Mais Querido. César; Kleber, Léo Duarte, Rafael, Michael; Ronaldo, Jean Lucas, Lucas Paquetá; Matheus Savio, Adryan and Felipe Vizeu, who, with two assists from Matheus Savio, closed the scoring in the training match.
The athletes will return to activities at Ninho do Urubu on Tuesday afternoon (20), aiming for the match against Chapecoense. The match against the Santa Catarina team will be played this Thursday (22), at Ilha do Urubu, with the ball rolling from 21 pm.
