Another goal for the sixth-place hero

Angelim reaches 14 goals and celebrates his help in the victory over Friburguense

It's not often that a defender gets a chance to score. Ronaldo Angelim's performances for Flamengo prove it. He's already played 212 matches and scored 14 goals, one of which, of course, is unforgettable: the 2-1 victory over Grêmio, which gave Flamengo the 2009 Brazilian title.

This Sunday, the defender scored again and celebrated the fact that he helped Rubro-Nego qualify in first place in Group A of the Taça Rio.

"I've scored 14 goals in official matches. But if we add friendlies, I've scored more. Every game is a challenge, and I'm happy with the goal and helping Flamengo win. But the most important thing is the victory and the team's performance," said Angelim.

The defender is in a different situation this year, 2010. Since arriving at Gávea, Angelim has always started, but this season, he's been giving way to Fabrício in the starting lineup. Even so, he continues to work hard to give his best for Flamengo.

"I'm not a reserve, no. At Flamengo, you're available to play at any time and you have to be ready. I always want to do my best to help, even as a fan of the club that I am," he concluded.

Angelim is one of the most successful players in Flamengo's current squad. The number 4 has won three Campeonato Carioca titles, two Taça Guanabara titles, a Taça Rio, a Copa do Brasil, and a Brasileirão.
