Flamengo fans turn out in large numbers and celebrate at Barradão

The heavy rain that fell late afternoon in Salvador didn't stop Flamengo fans from turning out in large numbers at Barradão Stadium this Saturday. From the moment the gates opened, the fans of the Rio de Janeiro club filled the designated section of the stands at Manoel Barradas Stadium and didn't stop singing for a second.
With flags, banners, flares, and plenty of excitement, the Bahians further demonstrated that when Flamengo plays in Salvador, they also play at home. With the ball rolling, the celebrations began early. Just three minutes in, Vagner Love opened the scoring for Flamengo, sending the Gávea fans into a frenzy at Barradão Stadium. Not even Vitória's goal late in the second half was enough to dampen the spirits of the fans, who left the stadium singing songs of love for the club.
"We were very happy with the fans supporting us. We know that Bahia fans have a lot of affection for our team and that's great for us," said defender Ronaldo Angelim.
It's worth noting that Flamengo will only make one more trip to the Northeast in this Brazilian Championship. The team will face Ceará on November 3rd at Castelão Stadium.
