Flamengo coach Andrade is all smiles. After winning his first title as a coach, and soon the Brazilian Championship, a title the Gávea club hadn't won in 17 years, "Tromba" became even more of a celebrity than he already was as a former player. Having won four Brazilian titles with Rubro-Negro and one with rival Vasco as a player, Andrade won his sixth title in the competition. For such achievements, he will receive a fitting tribute in the City Council.

Next Tuesday, Brazil's best coach in 2009 will receive the Pedro Ernesto Medal of Merit, the city of Rio de Janeiro's most prestigious honor, awarded by the City Council. In August of this year, another red-and-black fan received this honor: Adriano. The Emperor attended with his family and expressed great pride in the tribute. The recipient is nominated by a council member's request, which is voted on in plenary. Andrade was nominated by Councilwoman Clarissa Garotinho.

Another red-and-black fan was recently honored by Rio de Janeiro. After immortalizing his feet on the Maracanã Walk of Fame, becoming the fifth foreigner to leave his mark there, the Serbian also received the title of Citizen of the State of Rio de Janeiro, granted by the Legislative Assembly.
