"I barely got here and the guys are already beating me up"

In a good mood, Diogo passes through the Polish corridor and evaluates his first day of training at Flamengo.

The 23-year-old Diogo received a warm welcome from Flamengo's squad. Signed on loan from Olympiacos in Greece, he was officially introduced on Monday night (August 23.08), and on Tuesday (August 24.08) he trained normally with his new teammates. Before that, of course, he went through the now-traditional Polish corridor that new signings undergo.

"It's a joke. I've barely arrived here and the guys are already beating me up. But that's cool, it's part of the joke," he said, in an exclusive interview with Flamengo's official website.

The striker made the most of his first day at Ninho do Urubu. After playing in the training session with the starters, he stayed on the field alongside David, Ronaldo Angelim, Leo Medeiros, and Renato, doing keepy-ups and playing the so-called "altinho" (high ball). He was delighted and considered his initial interaction with the group excellent.

"It's great. I already knew David, Renato has the same agent as me, we're even staying at the same hotel and we came to training together, and the atmosphere here is wonderful. The first day was excellent and I'm very happy to be wearing the Flamengo shirt," said the number 43, who despite having trained with the 11, still doesn't know if he will start against Atlético-MG.

"I felt tired today. I haven't trained for a week, so let's see and talk things through, so we don't skip steps. If I'm going to join, I want to help. Tired, maybe it's not worth it," he added.
