After being left out of the World Cup due to a knee injury, the midfielder has been recovering well, returning to play for Rubro-Negro and was called up by coach Marcelo Bielsa to play two friendlies – against the United Arab Emirates and Oman – between October 8 and 12, in Dubai.
The midfielder celebrated the call-up and said he was surprised to be returning to his country so quickly. According to him, it will be a great opportunity to showcase his football skills in the "La Roja" jersey.
"It's a great pleasure to be called up again. I confess I didn't expect to be called up now, as I'm still slowly coming back. I almost went to the World Cup and it was difficult to cheer on my teammates from afar. But I understand Bielsa's position, he spoke to me and explained his reasons," he said.
Excited, he guarantees that the call-up gives him even more motivation to do his job with even more commitment at Flamengo.
