Each day that passes is another important step in Maldonado's recovery. Evolving after a knee injuryFlamengo's Chilean midfielder has been taking advantage of the offseason to intensify his muscle strengthening work and return to his former form as quickly as possible. Missing the field, he can't wait to return to the red-and-black jersey.

For the first time in this last month of the Brazilian Championship stoppage, this Monday (12.07), Maldonado trained with the ball, on the Gávea lawn. He did not participate in the collective with companions, but he walked around the pitch and practiced finishing with Val Baiano, Saba, Galhardo, Jorbison, Lenon, Fernando and Leo Medeiros.

Excited about his recovery, but still feeling some discomfort, the midfielder hopes to participate in the recreational session this Tuesday (13.07) and hopes to be back in the routine with the other players next week. In an interview with Flamengo's Official Website, Maldonado spoke about the injury, praised Correa's arrival and reaffirmed the desire to stay in Gávea.

Recovery - My recovery is progressing well. It takes time and patience, because I still have some discomfort in my knee. But we're working on it. These last few weeks have been good, and I hope to be back with my teammates next week.

Return forecast - It all depends on how my knee progresses. I went to the field today, and I hope to play recreationally tomorrow, but there's no timetable for my return yet. Maybe next week I'll be back with the group as normal? I still felt some discomfort in my knee today. It's annoying, but I hope it improves and I can work normally soon.

Correa - Correa is a good, experienced player who has played for several teams and performed well in tournaments. He'll be a huge help to us, and I hope he settles in as quickly as possible.

Brazilian Championship - We're still at the beginning of the Brazilian Championship, but we need to earn as many points as possible. The team is still in a period of chemistry, with reinforcements arriving, and I believe we will improve over time. We have to wait, be patient, and I'm sure we will improve with each game.

Missing the lawns -
I'm dying to play. I've already missed several games. Now, once again, I won't be able to start. I'm looking forward to, first, getting on the field with my teammates and, then, being able to play. We have a lot of tough games ahead, and we need the best from everyone.

Renewal -
The negotiation, as I said, doesn't depend solely on me. If it did, I'd stay with Flamengo, which is always my first choice. But I'm still waiting to see what the decision will be from now on.
