After the day's first training session at the George Helal Training Center, midfielder Mancuello spoke to reporters at a press conference. Scorer of a stunning free kick in Flamengo's last Carioca match against Boavista, the Argentine is also working hard to show off his native language: "My Portuguese is improving. I speak it all the time here," he said.

Having recovered from injury, Mancuello also praised Flamengo's facilities, which are crucial to the athlete's return to high performance. "The work environment is very good, and the training center's facilities are on par with those of a major club," he stated.

Mengão's fan club members are largely responsible for Mancuello's signing and the creation of the club's Performance Excellence Center! Want to be part of this movement? Click here and join the Nação Rubro-Negra Program or call 4007-1981.

Check out the main excerpts from Mancuello's interview:

Great free kick goal against Boavista
I had scored a similar goal for Independiente against Belgrano. It was a game-changing situation. I train to always do the same. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. The most important thing is that the team is winning again, which gives us more confidence. We hope to reach the semifinals.

Change in tactical scheme
The coach should be happy because he can change the formation and has players who can perform different roles on the field. We're here to help. We played great games with 4-3-3, and with 4-4-2 as well. The important thing is performance on the field.

Recovery period
I trained in the morning and afternoon. They were very sad days, because all I could think about was recovering quickly. It was difficult because I'm a foreigner and I came to Brazil to play soccer, but I couldn't do it for almost 45 days. I'm grateful to my teammates, the board, and the coaching staff because they knew I was sad and were always there for me.

Affection of the Nation
I already imagined what Flamengo fans were like. I came here on vacation in June and saw people wearing Flamengo shirts everywhere. The affection of the fans is crucial for building trust. It's gratifying that the fans recognize what we do on the field. The gratitude is immense, because it makes us happy.

Adaptation in Brazil
It's good. I really liked Rio and Flamengo. The work environment is great, and the training center's facilities are on par with a major club. My Portuguese is improving. I speak it all the time here, and I'm feeling a little more motivated.
