Maracanã complies with all health protocols and is ready to operate
The stadium underwent a disinfection and sanitization process during the quarantine
By Flamengo Communication - inMaracanã is ready to host soccer matches again, strictly adhering to all protocols required by health authorities. For the Flamengo vs. Bangu match, scheduled for 21 p.m. this Thursday (June 18), the stadium will not yet be open to spectators, but will ensure maximum safety for all those working.
To this end, a specialized company has already conducted four complete disinfection and sanitization sessions since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The press booths and benches, players' paths, locker rooms, benches, the field access tunnel, the police station, the Special Criminal Court (Jecrim), the security team room, restrooms, and the mixed zone were decontaminated. This Wednesday (17), starting at 16 p.m., there will be a new sanitization procedure for tomorrow's game.
The protocol is to always carry out the disinfection and sanitization process one day before each match and repeat it immediately after its conclusion. Additionally, six hand sanitizer dispensers have been strategically positioned throughout the stadium: two in the mixed zone, two on the players' benches, one in the press tunnel, and one in front of tunnel 4. The use of a disinfection chamber is also being evaluated.
In some strategic locations, such as reporter positions behind the goals, there will be stickers on the floor indicating a two-meter distance between each professional. The stadium's entrances are divided as follows: Gate 3 (internal services), Gate 9 (delegations, coaching staff and club officials, FERJ professionals, referees, and accredited ARFOC photographers), and Gate 12 (press).
Upon arrival, everyone will have their temperature checked using touchless thermometers and will also be asked to complete a self-assessment questionnaire. Maracanã understands that its greatest responsibility today, in addition to providing the conditions for a good football spectacle, is to ensure the safety of everyone present.
