Marathon of games doesn't worry Toninho Oliveira

Trainer believes Flamengo will not feel physical fatigue due to the work done in recent weeks

Starting next week, Flamengo will be without full weeks to work for a long time. In 45 days, the team must play 15 Brazilian Championship games. And, with the team still developing, questions arise about the time to work and the squad's physical condition. For coach Toninho Oliveira, the group is not a concern.

According to him, the work done in recent weeks has been geared toward this marathon of games. The coach emphasizes that each match can cause different levels of wear and tear on the athlete, but he expresses confidence that the team will handle the pace of the games well.

"We've worked specifically with this marathon in mind. Of course, everything depends on the circumstances of each game. We'll go to different regions of Brazil, with different climates, and we might face some heavy pitches. It's 45 days and 15 games, and of course that's worrying, but we have a good group of players and we hope we can handle it well, avoid injuries, and the team's performance doesn't drop off," he said.

The coach knows that it will be difficult for the team to maintain the same pace of play with so much wear and tear, but he is betting on the strength of the red-black squad so that the team can achieve good results.

"It's difficult to maintain the same level of performance, but we've had four weeks of good work and we hope there won't be any problems. Football involves a lot of trauma, knocks, which sometimes cause players to break sequences of games. That's why having a squad is important, and hopefully we'll have at least 80% of the group healthy in each match," he added.
