One of Flamengo's standout performers in recent rounds, attacking midfielder Marcelinho Paraíba stated that the red-and-black team is still in contention for the Brazilian Championship title. After a 2-1 victory over Sport, the Gávea team reached 46 points, four behind the leader, and remained in the competition's top four. For Marcelinho, Flamengo will be a handful in this final stretch.

"It was a great victory on Saturday. The fans showed up and cheered us on until the end. We managed to repay them with a beautiful comeback. Now it's time to keep working. They let Flamengo get there, and now we're going to work hard. We're motivated and in the fight for the Brazilian title."

For the next match, against Náutico, at Estádio dos Aflitos, the player counts on the support of the red-black nation in the northeast.

"It's been a long time since I've played a match in the Northeast, and it's going to be a great joy. I'd like to take this opportunity to call on Flamengo fans in the region. The club has a lot of fans in the Northeast. I hope they fill the stadium and help us achieve another victory, which will be very important in this final stretch of the championship."
