One of Flamengo's reinforcements for the 2008 season, midfielder Marcinho did some physical exercises this Monday morning (14/01), at the Gávea field. After training, the player spoke of his anxiety for the debut of the Campeonato Carioca, on Sunday (20/01), against Boavista, at Maracanã.

- "I'm really looking forward to meeting the fans on Sunday. Playing at Maracanã wearing a Flamengo shirt is a dream for any player," said the supporter.

Marcinho trained most of the preseason in Teresópolis with the reserve team. He believes the Red-and-Black squad is very strong, and the competition for a spot in midfield will be fierce.

"Everyone on the squad is capable of being on the team. I respect the players who were already here and did a great job last year. The important thing is to train with desire and determination. I'll work to fit into Joel's game plan soon."

For the debut of the Campeonato Carioca, Flamengo's new reinforcement issued a warning.

- "All teams want to beat Flamengo. We have to be alert right away in the Carioca's opening round."
