Flamengo's top scorer in the Brazilian Championship and in the 2008 season, supporter Marcinho wants the red-black team to take advantage of its good moment in the national championship to open up an advantage over its rivals.

"We have to take advantage of this great moment the team is experiencing. By achieving good results, we will open up a good lead over the other teams."

For next Sunday's match against Ipatinga, in Minas Gerais, the number 22 believes in a very competitive game.

"The Ipatingão pitch varies a lot. From what I've seen, it's not in good condition. It's going to be a very tight game. We have to quickly establish that connection between defense and attack."

Regarding the possible interest of América-MEX, Marcinho denied any contact, and stated that his thoughts are only on Clube da Gávea.

"The interest shows that I've been doing a good job. But there's nothing official. What I've heard is through the press. Flamengo gives me complete peace of mind to work. My goal is to help the club become Brazilian champion."
