After the first training session on Monday (January 18.01th) at the Gávea headquarters, midfielder Márcio Araújo spoke to reporters in a press conference. The athlete was optimistic about the Flamengo squad and expects a good season for Flamengo. He also praised his new midfield partner, Willian Arão, who played alongside him in the starting lineup during this morning's training session.

- It's important for our preparation, as we're at the beginning of preseason. It's crucial for us to reach the desired playing pace.
Expectations for the year
"The athletes who arrived are very high-quality. Last year, there were some who arrived during coaching transitions. Now we're starting preseason together with an experienced coaching staff."

- For my work on the field, what we show in training. I always try to do my best to keep playing.

"He's a very intelligent guy, whom I faced in São Paulo when I was at Palmeiras and he was at Corinthians. He had a great championship last year, surprising us by getting into the attack."

"Regardless of the future, if another player in our position comes in, we have to do our part to please the committee. Not just me, but all the players."

"Everyone helps with marking too. These days, there's no such thing as a player doing just one job. In today's football, if everyone doesn't give their all, there's no good marking or attacking."
Arrival of Mancuello
"The adaptation is more about culture, not coexistence. Canteros (who is also Argentinian) also eases this issue with him. But all new athletes are welcomed and feel comfortable in the group."
