After the day's work and the collective by Paolo Guerrero, Flamengo's head of medical department, Dr. Márcio Tannure, explained the striker's situation. The athlete trained normally this Thursday (1.10) and played in the last matches after recovering from an injury.
"Guerrero felt some pain yesterday, which is absolutely normal during his rehabilitation. To be clear: he doesn't have an injury. What he felt was pain in his ankle, and it's not even in the same place, which is absolutely normal for a soccer player. Everyone feels something at some point," he analyzed.
Tannure also explained the treatment for the attacker and his presence in the work over the next few days.
"We opted for an infiltration, a procedure in which we inject a local anti-inflammatory precisely because it was a small issue and we preferred a local effect, to speed up recovery and alleviate the pain. I'm sure it won't prevent him from continuing to train as he did today, without any problems. I believe it will also prevent him from training the rest of the week and in Sunday's game. He felt a bit insecure, which is completely normal during an athlete's rehabilitation," he stated.
