Flamengo's squad received a special visit on Thursday afternoon (January 06.01th) at the training center where they are conducting their preseason training in Londrina, Paraná. Defender Marinho, who wore the red-and-black jersey from 1980 to 1984 and won three Brazilian titles, the Libertadores Cup, and the Interclub World Cup, lives in the city and visited the delegation. The former player was able to see teammates from his time there, such as Vanderlei Luxemburgo, now Flamengo's coach, and Cantareli, the goalkeeping coach.

A bond of friendship that Marinho highlighted as an achievement as important as the titles he won while wearing the Sacred Mantle. Admitting he misses the group that won everything, he recalls that the unity of that squad was one of the main drivers of such success.

"Back then, the group was very close-knit. I had a great friendship with everyone, but Cantareli was like a brother to me. It's great to see him again. It's great to be visiting the people at Flamengo, which was the club where I won the most titles and which undoubtedly had a significant impact on my life," he recalled.

Cantareli agrees. He also points out that even the players' families were friends and always together, which made things easier. In good humor, he challenged Marinho, asking why the visit hadn't happened sooner.

"I was already getting worried. I thought he was coming on the first day (laughs). He's a great friend, just like everyone in that group was. The families got along well, we were always together, it was great," he added.
