Signed as a promising young player in Brazilian football and with his performance surrounded by expectations, midfielder Marquinhos has already resolved his situation with Vitória, had his contract with Flamengo reactivated by the CBF and is ready to help the Rio de Janeiro club soon. And to perform to the maximum, the player will start playing next Sunday (19.09), in the duel against Fluminense, for the debut of the Brazilian Under-23 Championship.

"I think we have to take care of our bodies too and be 100%. I'm going to train here to get back into the swing of things. I'm happy that everything has worked out and I'm available. Any time I can get on the field, I just want to help the team. That's what matters to me," he said.

Despite still being quite young, Marquinhos is already a little more experienced than some of the players in the squad that will compete in the competition, and for this reason, he is considered a kind of reference in the squad.

"We talked a lot. We were on top of things, in the professional ranks, and we have to pass on that experience to those coming up. With each passing day, we communicate to understand each other better. Everyone really wants to win, and that's important for us, who aren't playing, and for them, who are looking for a place. I pass on what I've learned to them. I've learned a lot since my Junior days, playing with great players at Vitória, Palmeiras, and now here at Flamengo, and I think it's important to pass that on to those coming up. They also need to listen to those who are already a little more forward-thinking. That's important," said the player, who doesn't prefer to play in midfield or attack.

"I don't have a preference. To help, you can't choose a position, but I'm playing midfielder and striker, which are the two roles I like to play, and it's not a big headache. I'll give my all regardless of how I play. The coach is a great one, he's giving me support, and everyone has their heads in the right place and their feet on the ground to have a great championship," he concluded.
