Marquinhos is back in Flamengo's squad.
After a good performance in the under-23 team, the midfielder travels with the squad for the match against Grêmio.
By From the team at Flamengo's official website - inMidfielder Marquinhos is back in Flamengo's main squad. The young talent was signed as a great promise of national football in the middle of the year, even making his debut against Internacional, but then had to resolve a contractual issue with his former club, Vitória, and could no longer be included in the squad.
Now, however, already registered again with the Brazilian Football Confederation as a Flamengo player, Marquinhos played a good game against Fluminense, on Sunday (September 21.09st), in the debut of the U-23 Cup, and was rewarded by coach Silas with the chance to travel to the capital of Rio Grande do Sul.
"You always have to be prepared. Thank God we played a good game in the under-23s and now I'll have this opportunity in the main team. Now it's about keeping my feet on the ground, my head in the right place, and trying to make the most of this great opportunity that coach Silas is giving me," he said.
Interestingly, the midfielder will return to the city of Porto Alegre, where he played his first official game for Flamengo. After the defeat to Inter in his debut, he hopes for better luck now against Colorado's rival.
"Hopefully we'll come away with a victory this time, right? My debut for Flamengo was there, against Inter, but unfortunately we ended up losing the game. Now we're in a good phase and hopefully we can get a positive result against Grêmio," said the player, who has no preference for his position on the field.
"Silas talked to me about position, asking where I prefer to play, but my preference is always to help the team. I like playing on the wings or even coming from behind, as a third striker, but regardless, the important thing is to do my best for the group," he added.
