Thanks to Felipe Vizeu's goal in the second half, the Mais Querido added three more points and remains in the isolated lead of the Brazilian Championship. After the match, coach Maurício Barbieri spoke to the press at a press conference at Maracanã and praised the red-black performance.

"We faced the defending champions, a team that has been working in the same way for years and is very strong. We played an excellent game, had good chances, performed well, and achieved results. I'm very satisfied. It was exactly how we imagined the match would go. We thought they would attack more and play more, but it was thanks to our quick transitions. We were patient with the ball, created space, and managed to prevent any loss of control during the match. We handled it well to come away with the victory," said coach Barbieri.

Maurício's campaign has been very positive. In 15 games, he has won eight, drawn six, and lost one, demonstrating the strength of the red-and-black squad this season. "It's important to share the credit. I've mentioned it before, and I think we're doing a great job of recovering. This is thanks to the CEP FLA and the players for their attitude, for minimizing fatigue. We went to the Ninho field yesterday, but we only marked spaces, talked about movement and marking. It was almost like a rehearsal without the ball. I'm very pleased with the level of understanding and assimilation to apply this to the game. There's great harmony and synergy. Despite the short time between games, we're actually improving in each one," he stated.

"Henrique Dourado had a good first half and performed even better than in previous games. Before he misplaced the pass, we had already decided to make the substitution because we felt he was the best option. Vizeu came off the bench and showed how focused and connected we all are to do a good job. I'm happy for him, as he was injured and out for a while, but had been training well to help us. He's leaving, but he said he really wants to help the team in this final stretch," praised Maurício Barbieri.

The Rubro-Negro's next challenge will be next Thursday (7), when they go to the Mané Garricha stadium, in Brasília, to face Fluminense. The match is valid for another round of the Brazilian Championship. "Throughout these games we had many absences, but we maintained a standard of quality.
