Mauricio Isla, Flamengo's new full-back, arrived in Rio de Janeiro early this Saturday morning (22). The 32-year-old Chilean arrived alongside his wife, Gala, and his daughter, Luz, as well as the vice-president of football, Marcos Braz. The player signed a contract with Mais Querido until December 2022 and will wear the number 44 shirt for the red-black team.

"I'm very happy to be joining a major Brazilian club like Flamengo, which has won so many titles recently. It's a thrill to be at a huge club with great players and so much history. I know the coach and know he worked with Guardiola for many years. We have to give him time to implement the style of play he wants," said Isla.

Vice-president of football, Marcos Braz, also spoke about the negotiations with the new red-black right-back.

"We arrived in Europe on Monday. Everyone is very tired, but everything went well. He's a well-known player who played in two World Cups. We're very pleased. He has a wonderful career in football. We hope he succeeds at Flamengo and that we continue to win everything next year. I want to thank the club's legal department for their tireless work, especially Dr. André Galdeano," said the director.
