Maxi dreams of another goal at Maracanã
By Flamengo Archive - inConfirmed again with the number 10 shirt in Flamengo's attack for this Thursday's match against Juventude, at Maracanã, striker Maxi Biancucchi showed confidence and said he dreams of repeating the great performance in the classic against Fluminense, when he gave the opposing defense a lot of work and still scored the winning goal in a 1-0 victory.
"I always dream of playing well and scoring goals, even more so now, playing for Flamengo. I really want that to happen again this Thursday," said Maxi, who, although confident in his own football, does not consider himself an absolute starter for the team.
"The coach wants to play with a striker who's more fixed in the box and another who plays on the wings. It just so happens that I've been the latter. But here at Flamengo, you have to play well every game to continue being a starter."
Maxi, who will partner Souza or Obina in attack, also spoke about the unusual situation he's living in Teresópolis. Flamengo is occupying the Granja Comary facilities, which are normally used by the Brazilian national team, Argentina's archrival.
"I know I'm in the training camp where the national team players usually are. I can't deny that it crossed my mind, but in a very positive way. I consider this a special moment in my life. I have great respect for the Brazilian national team and I feel honored to be here at Granja."
