In the third round of the Brasileirão, Flamengo beat América-MG 2-0 on Sunday afternoon (13), at Maracanã. Mengão's goals were scored by Bruno Henrique and Rodrigo Muniz. With the result, Rubro-Negro achieved its second victory in two games and maintained its 100% record in the championship.

The game
Flamengo started the match by attacking their opponents, and just four minutes in, Matheus Cavichioli brought down Bruno Henrique inside the box, resulting in a penalty. After consulting VAR, the referee reversed his decision and ruled the Flamengo striker offside.

In the 18th minute, Vitinho took a corner kick, and Bruno Henrique rose above América's defense and headed it in. The goalkeeper made a good save. Five minutes later, Mengão opened the scoring with a beautiful play! Vitinho stole the ball in the defense, advanced, and passed it to Bruno Henrique on the left. The forward played a one-two with Vitinho and was one-on-one with Matheus Cavichioli to slot home the corner: 1-0.

After the goal, the red-and-black team continued to look for offensive plays. América, in turn, closed up and tried to counterattack. The first half ended with the red-and-black team in the lead.

In the second half, Flamengo continued to attack, looking for a second goal. In the sixth minute, Michael took a shot from outside the box, the goalkeeper rebounded, and Gerson fired it over the bar. In the 21st minute, Mengão doubled their lead! Rodrigo Muniz received the ball at the edge of the box, spun quickly around the defense, and fired a powerful cross into the corner: 2-0.

In the 33rd minute, Flamengo nearly scored a third. Gerson received the ball in the box and hit a rocket against the crossbar. In the closing stages, Flamengo had two more chances to extend their lead, thanks to Diego and Gerson, but the match ended 2-0.

Next appointment
The Most Beloved returns to the field next Wednesday (16) to face Coritiba, at 21:30 pm, at Maracanã, for the second leg of the Third Phase of the Copa do Brasil.
