Mengão finalizes preparations for the classic against Botafogo
The 9th round match of Cariocão will be played this Saturday (25), at 18 pm, at Mané Garrincha, in Brasília

Everything is ready for the first classic of the year! Flamengo finished this Friday morning (24), at Ninho do Urubu, the preparation for the match against Botafogo, which takes place tomorrow (25), at 18 pm, at the Mané Garrincha stadium, in Brasília. The confrontation is valid for the 9th round of Cariocão.
Coach Vitor Pereira led a tactical training session to determine the squad for the derby. After training, the red-and-black delegation headed to the airport and continued their journey to Brasília.
In the early afternoon, Mais Querido announced the renewal of athlete Matheus França's contract until December 2027. He was named in the squad for this Saturday's match.
Flamengo and Botafogo have played 236 matches in the history of the Campeonato Carioca, with Flamengo having the upper hand. Flamengo has won 92 matches, drawn 67, and lost 77. The last meeting between the teams took place in the 2022 Brasileirão, with Flamengo winning 1-0. The goal was scored by Chilean Vidal.
