In a game valid for the last round of the Libertadores group stage, Flamengo thrashed Aucas 4-0 on Wednesday night (28), at Maracanã. Pedro, Léo Pereira, Bruno Henrique and Victor Hugo scored the goals in the red-black triumph. With the result, Mengão finished second in Group A and is classified for the round of XNUMX of the continental competition.

The game
Flamengo started the match looking to attack and created a great opportunity to open the scoring after just three minutes. Victor Hugo released Bruno Henrique at speed, who came in at speed, dribbled past the goalkeeper, but shot wide.

On another dangerous run, Mengão made no mistake and opened the scoring in the eighth minute. Wesley dribbled past his marker, cut into the middle of the box, and fired a well-placed shot. The goalkeeper palmed it away, Arrascaeta grabbed the rebound and shot, but the ball bounced off the defense, leaving Pedro to score the first: 1-0.

With the advantage, the red-and-black team dominated possession and managed to orchestrate attacks with relative ease. In the 17th minute, Wesley passed to Thiago Maia in midfield, who took a low shot, and the ball went to the goalkeeper's left.

In the 25th minute, Rubro-Negro created another great opportunity. Bruno Henrique broke through and passed to Arrascaeta inside the box. The Uruguayan backheeled the ball back to the number 27, but the goalkeeper saved it. Four minutes later, the second goal came naturally. Arrascaeta took a corner kick into the box, and Léo Pereira rose unmarked to head home: 2-0.

Mengão was hungry for a goal! In the 41st minute, Bruno Henrique scored the third to the delight of the nation. Everton Ribeiro played a one-two with Wesley on the right flank and passed to the striker, who controlled the ball with his right foot and fired a left-footed shot into the corner to extend the red-and-blacks' lead in the first half: 3-0.

In the second half, the game became more measured. Flamengo, already on the scoreboard, managed possession well, while Aucas tried to attack, but without much danger.

Then, in the 8th minute, on a counterattack, Mengão extended their lead with a gem from the youth academy. Arrascaeta passed to Bruno Henrique, who raced down the left and passed to Pedro. The number 9 set up Victor Hugo, who then struck hard to make it 4-0.  

Even with the rout already solidified, the Mais Querido continued to create chances up front without much effort, given the opponent's fragility. In the final stretch, Sampaoli's team exchanged passes in attack, killing time, and leaving the field with qualification for the round of 16 assured.

Next appointment
The Most Beloved returns to the field next Saturday (1) to face Fortaleza, at 18:30 pm, at Maracanã, for the 13th round of the Brasileirão.
