The game
Flamengo started the match looking to attack, and just a minute into the match, they opened the scoring at Nilton Santos. Wesley received the ball from Pedro and sent a low cross into the box. Marlon Freitas attempted to clear it but sent it into his own net. An own goal by the Flamengo defender: 1-0.

Even after the goal, the Red-Blacks didn't back down and continued to look for attacking plays. Throughout the first half, Botafogo pushed forward to try to equalize. This happened in the 18th minute. Tiquinho controlled the ball inside the box, and the ball fell to Victor Sá, who unleashed a shot into Matheus Cunha's left corner: 1-1.

A good move from the red-and-black attack in the 22nd minute. Gerson appeared well on the left and passed to Bruno Henrique in the box. The number 27 shot low, but Lucas Perri made the save.

In the final stretch, Flamengo controlled possession in the attacking half, exploiting mainly the left flank with Bruno Henrique and Gerson. In stoppage time, Bruno Henrique received the ball at the edge of the box, beat his marker, and struck a powerful shot. Lucas Perri palmed it away for a corner. In a lively first half, the teams went into halftime with the score at 1-1.

O Mais Querido managed to score the second early in the second half through Bruno Henrique, but VAR ruled the striker offside. In the 8th minute, Pedro controlled the ball inside the box and shot over the bar. A great chance created by the number 9.

The game was open. Both teams constantly sought a goal. In the 27th minute, Mengão deservedly scored their second goal. And it was through Bruno Henrique, the best player on the pitch! The striker received the ball wide on the left, spun past JP Galvão, and hit a beautiful shot into the goalkeeper's left corner. A stunning goal at the Nilton Santos stadium: 2-1.

In the final minutes, Botafogo tried to apply pressure, but the Red-Blacks fought back, played with determination, and secured a crucial victory against the league leaders. In addition, Mengão ended the Black-and-Whites' unbeaten streak at home.
