With emotion until the end! In a postponed game from the 11th round of the Brasileirão, Flamengo prevailed and beat Goiás, coming from behind, 2-1, this Tuesday (13), at Maracanã. The two goals for Rubro-Negro were scored by top scorer Pedro, who scored the winning goal in the 50th minute of the second half. With the result, Mengão achieved its fourth consecutive victory in the competition and now occupies second place in the table.
The game
The first half began with Flamengo exchanging passes in their attacking half. At four minutes, the red-and-black team created their first dangerous chance. Thiago Maia made a good play on the left and passed to Pedro, who shot first-time, but Tadeu made the save. At 10 minutes, another good play from Flamengo. After a series of passes on the right, Michael crossed to Bruno Henrique, who headed the ball over the crossbar.
At 12 minutes, in their first attack of the match, Goiás opened the scoring with Vinícius: 1-0. Behind on the scoreboard, Flamengo went on the attack, and with that, occupied the entire defensive field of the Goiás team. At 27', Gerson came down the right side and crossed to Natan's head. Tadeu made a great save.
After much persistence, Flamengo managed to equalize in the first half with a goal from their top scorer, Pedro! Bruno Henrique received the ball on the left and delivered a perfect pass for the striker to finish: 1-1. The Rubro-Negro (Flamengo) still created chances to turn the game around in the first half, but went into halftime with the score tied.
Flamengo returned for the second half suffocating Goiás. Just 3 minutes in, Pedro received the ball on the right side of the penalty area and delivered a good cross to Bruno Henrique, who headed powerfully against the crossbar. At 16 minutes, Bruno Henrique set up Pedro, whose shot went just over the goal. Following that, a free kick was awarded to Goiás. Edílson took the kick, and Hugo made a fine save.
Flamengo applied pressure! At 20 minutes, after a corner kick, Pedro headed freely, but Tadeu saved Goiás. After missing numerous opportunities, through sheer grit and determination on the field, Flamengo scored the winning goal at 50 minutes. In the last Flamengo attack of the game, Arão took a shot from outside the area, and the ball fell to Pedro, who calmly controlled it and beat the goalkeeper to make the fans erupt: 2-1.
