Bruno and David, suspended and injured, respectively, missed Flamengo's opening match in the Libertadores, but they still attended the stadium to watch. A last-minute absence, goalkeeper Bruno left satisfied with what he saw. According to him, the three points earned at Maracanã were crucial.
\"The whole team did well and deserves congratulations. It's always important to start a competition with a win, especially in the Libertadores, where we can't afford to drop points," said the red-and-black captain.
\Defender David also celebrated the result. Suspended for his red card in the 2009 Copa Sudamericana match against Fluminense, the defender watched the match alongside Flamengo's former stars and celebrated his teammates' excellent performance.
\"The team did well and got three very important points. Unfortunately, I couldn't help, but now I'm free and whenever Andrade needs me, he can count on me," said the player who is playing in his first Copa Libertadores.
