There's no doubt that Raulino de Oliveira Stadium, in the Redonda neighborhood, has become a special place for Bruno Mezenga. Flamengo's center forward, who came through the youth ranks, has been playing for the senior team since 2005, when he was just 17 years old. However, he only managed to find the net for the senior team this year, and precisely in the city of Sul-Fluminense.

Even though it brought the striker luck, Volta Redonda was never Bruno Mezenga's cup of tea. He cherishes the memories of his early goals, but confesses he knows nothing about the city, famous for its steel mills. Nothing of any importance. What the player can't get out of his mind is that if he takes the field against Macaé this Saturday at 19:30 pm, he'll find the path to goal again, something he knows well.

"Yes, I'm excited. Thank God I have a good track record there, so if the opportunity arises, I'll be ready to do my best to help Flamengo come away with the victory," he said.

The responsibility of replacing Emperor Adriano is significant, but according to Mezenga, playing alongside Vagner Love isn't the most difficult task. The center forward believes that a partnership with Love's top scorer could work, as their playing styles complement each other.

"He's a fast player who gets out of the box well, so I think he's a good fit. We have a really good connection. I'm more of a box player, he plays on the wings. This has everything going for it," he added.

Mezenga has already played 23 games for Flamengo's professional team, 14 of them as a starter (two in 2010), and scored three goals.
