Midfielder reveals that, in the locker room, he apologized to the other players

Michael emerged as a solid option for Flamengo's midfield playmaking this season. He came into the State Championship, performed well, and has since become a regular in the starting lineup. It was no different last Wednesday (April 28.04) against Corinthians, but he was sent off in the first half and experienced tense moments at the Maracanã. Not because he was sent off, but because he could no longer help Flamengo secure a 1-0 victory.
After the match, Michael revealed that he made a point of talking to all his teammates in the locker room. After apologizing to the squad, the midfielder received affection and understanding from everyone.
"The group knows me well and knows I would never do anything to harm the team. In the play that led to my first yellow card, I barely touched Jucilei. I don't even think it was a foul, much less that I deserved a warning. In the second play, I overdid it in my desire to disarm the opponent. I was sure I would steal the ball to launch a counterattack. But the player got in front of me. I ended up hitting him and was taken out of the match. I was relieved with Flamengo's victory," Michael admitted.
With the experience of someone who has played for big clubs and even played in the Champions League (European Champions League) for Dynamo Kyiv in Ukraine, the midfielder recognizes that he could have been more cautious.
"I'm mature enough to know I made a mistake. But at the same time, I'm aware that these are things that can happen in a match like this. These are two of the biggest clubs in the country fighting for continuity in the most valuable competition for both of them in 2010. Unfortunately, this time it was me. But I can't let myself get down. The fans can continue to trust me, just as they have in these last few games when I started for the team and performed well. I'm already making myself available to the coaching staff and the group to accompany them to São Paulo," he stated.
